The red brick on our new building (well, 18 months old now) has white splotches all over it. I believe this is called efflorescence which occurs as masonry materials cure and the moisture evaporates out of the substrate.
When Spring arrives, we will water blast this building and apply a coat of Clear cladding. Then in 2020 we will apply another coat of Clear Cladding and that will protect our facility until 2040. I really doubt I’ll be around then but the building will be protected.
We’ve been using this material for some time now on chimneys and it has done a nice job of sealing the water leaks. We’ve also been involved in a few projects on office buildings where there has been a reported decrease in their utility bills.
Please see the attached documentation for more information on this material.
As always, let us know how we can help you repair, protect and improve your facility’s infrastructure.
